We love putting on our aprons and getting into the kitchen especially to make brunch on a weekend. French toast is our favourite because it is quick, tastes yummy and you can make it sweet or savory, healthy or a little naughty. kids can do most of the steps which is very rewarding for them. Plus you can use up stale bread instead of binning it.
1/2 cup milk
4 slices bread
Whisk in a bowl 2 eggs and 1/2 cup milk. Dip 4 slices of stale bread into the bowl to soak up the egg mixture. Then shallow fry the bread until golden and cooked through. Serve with bacon, tomatoes and mushrooms or if you like it sweet berries or maple syrup.
