5 Reasons to Travel Alone

At least once in your life, you have to leave your friends and family behind and go travelling.

You don’t have to be gone for long, especially when there are so many itineraries that cater for three and even six-month travels. Travelling alone is going to – cheesy line coming – help you to find yourself. You learn so much about who you are and what you want to become when you take time away from everyone else and you concentrate on you and what you want.

You can learn whether you are even able to manage on your own company; some people can’t stand the quiet and prefer to have people to talk to and engage with, even if that’s just small talk. It doesn’t matter where you go, beach or rainforest, mountains or desert – you just have to do it. You can do it on a budget, with a capsule bag and the least amount of ‘stuff’, whichever way you choose to do it, check out this website for more info on what to take when you go solo. Travelling is an adventure and travelling alone is all a part of the experience. Below, we’ve got five reasons why you should do it.

Stories. The world is seen by many people every day, but every experience will be difference. You could walk the same footsteps of a hundred people on the same stretch of beach, and each and every one of those people will have a different story to tell about the colour of the sea or the softness of the sand. Travelling alone gives you a chance to be a storyteller – for the rest of your life.

Confidence. The amount of people who cling to someone else instead of learning to stand on their own two feet is incredible. When you’re young, getting out there by yourself and learning to build your confidence is so important. How else are you ever going to learn what you want and what you don’t want from life? It’s a huge achievement to travel alone, so watch your confidence soar while you do it.

Connections. The world is a smorgasbord of personalities, looks, loves. You get an entire chocolate box full of flavours to experience when you meet new people and forge new connections. Take the time to learn about others and their cultures and you can expand your own horizons.

Budget. There’s nothing better than a cheap holiday, and when you are only thinking about yourself, you can be as cheap as you’d like to be! Pitch a tent or book a hotel. Eat sparingly or banquet; the choice is yours.

Skills. You can gain so much experience while you’re on an adventure. Choosing to work and earn as you go will give you the chance to work in different settings with new people and earn good cash to keep your travels funded. Don’t be afraid to dive right in and learn new skills.

Solo travel is a big deal. Are you brave enough?
