Micro Chargers
Boy are they Micro, fast and oh so cool! Micro chargers are electronic quick charge cars that you put into a charger for 10 seconds and then launch onto the track. There are two types of Micro Chargers – race cars and stunt cars, each having their own unique advantages and skills.
The Micro Chargers themselves are only around 2cm x 1cm yet the speeds that the race cars have are great and the stunt cars can do great tricks.
With the Micro charges you can get a track or make your own; race your friends or simply test your cars abilities. The Micro Chargers are a fun new toy, perfect for Christmas as you can get the extra bits and pieces as Stocking Fillers or ask family members to buy expansion packs or stunt devices. We tested three of the Micro Charger products and our experience is listed below:
It is important to note that there are two types of Micro Chargers – a Race Car & Track and a Stunt Car and Track and neither can be used with the other. The Stunt cars have a red chassis and are optimised for extreme stunt performance. They are only to be used on Stunt Tracks, while the Race cars have a blue colour chassis and are designed for high endurance racing, only to be used on Race Tracks.
Micro Charger Launcher Pack
The Micro Charger Launcher Pack enables you to launch multiple cars simultaneously. Fantastic when playing with friends and to add to your race track and make it more exciting. The Launcher pack comes complete with a quick charge micro car, a launcher (a handheld charger) and a trading card with information about the car that you have. This is a great stocking filler idea to add onto an existing collection or to help create a new collection. Batteries not included – requires 2 x AAA batteries
RRP: $12
Crash Track
The Crash Track comes with an instruction manual, brochure showing all the cars with their cool names such as Nanite, Velox and Omni Tec as well as a trading card. The trading card shows you what your car can do, advising the Manufacturer, the engine type, the trust, traction and the boost ratio – everything a car lover wants to know and boy are these Micro Chargers fast – take a look at the video.
Setting the track up is not hard, however the connections are a little difficult for a 6 year old to do and they may require some help in initially setting up the track. What I liked about the track was that if you had to turn it over to pick it up to connect it, the other pieces stayed together and didn’t break apart. This also means that it can be moved (put away) without having to break the track up and set it up again when they want to play next.
Note: They work best on flat hard surfaces that are level. Should you spill anything on the track or car, dry completely before charging.
RRP: $20
Expansion Pack
The expansion pack is a great way to extend the fun by creating a bigger better racing track. It comes with 46 pieces including a slingshot track, connectors, a bump track, straight lanes, curved tracks as well as chicane track enabling you to expand your time, jump or crash track into your ultimate track. The expansion pack is ideal to inspire creativity and adventure by creating your own tracks (and tricks for the stunt cars) especially when playing with more than one person as it adds to the fun and excitement.
Note: The expansion pack does not include a car or launcher, so you will need to have a track with launcher and car already.
RRP: $15
