Australia is such a vast country, that many of us who live in it would dare like to admit that there will be parts we have never ventured to or seen, so there are many Family Friendly Locations to explore.
It can be easy to jump ship and vacation in another country when really we have so much available to us here that we can often enjoy a staycation and it would still feel like we have travelled to another part of the world.
Family friendly locations are very important, so I wanted to share with you some of the cities in Australia that are worth a visit.
Perth
First of all, I wanted to give a mention to Perth, Western Australia. This town is a great place for children and can often be, if you are travelling from the eastern countries, your first stop in Australia. Perth has so much to offer for families from making museums to the great Botanical gardens, and so you may want to look into cheap car rental in Perth to help you get around everywhere that your want to see and the things you want to do. It is all in close proximity to each other, but traveling outside of Perth will help your to see some great towns such as Broome that has a different vibe altogether.
Melbourne
Classed as one of the most liveable cities in the world, Melbourne is definitely a family friendly location. Based in the state of Victoria not only do you have some amazing sights to see in the city, such as wonderful museums and views from the top of skyscrapers, but you also have the Melbourne Zoo and sea life to enjoy. Venturing out a little will see you able to explore the suburban towns and villages, and with the city being on the coast, you also have the chance to enjoy some great beach days.
Sydney

Sydney, which is the capital of New South Wales, is one of the most famous cities in Australia, thanks to the iconic sights such as the Sydney Harbour and opera house, but you also have some great locations to see perfect for families. Beautiful parks (a big mention to Bondi beach!) are just some of the things you may want to do on your visit here.
You could prepare your sexiest swimwear and enjoy the weather and beautiful beaches of Australia’s white sand. Taking social media-worthy photos in Sydney will surely catch the attention of your family and friends. The hottest months are December through March, thus it’s the perfect time to cool down in Sydney’s ocean waters. You may also head to the beach during spring and autumn if you want a more secluded atmosphere.
Adelaide
Adelaide is classed as South Australia’s cosmopolitan city, but that certainly doesn’t mean that it won’t suit families with children. There is the famous ring of parkland around the river Thomas that not only has wide open spaces, but is also home to some of the most famous Museums and art galleries around.
If you’re looking for a romantic getaway to the Adelaide Hills, you’ll find a resort that offers excellent accommodation and activities for couples. Surprise your special someone by cycling together alongside the breathtaking view of the Old Freeway at Mount Lofty.
In the evening, treat and spoil your spouse by going to a spa for a relaxing couple’s massage. Enjoy the massage session without leaving your accommodation. Of course, don’t miss the wine and grazing platter on a deck while talking with your special someone.
Cairns

Finally, the city of Cairns in North Queensland is considered the gateway to the famous Great Barrier Reef, which I am sure is o many bucket lists all over the world. The cultural parks tell the story of aboriginals and islander people with music and dance, definitely something all of the family would enjoy. There are also national parks with access to forested areas as well as hidden beaches, perfect for a day of exploring.
Cairns is a family-oriented tourist destination in North Queensland. You’ll learn many things about Australian origins, culture, and traditions. Enjoy the magnificent views and outdoor activities which is a perfect getaway from the busy city life. Don’t forget to bring home some locally-made souvenirs and the best stories you’ll learn from the place.
I hope that this has made you more aware of some of the family friendly locations in Australia.
