Little Nation Balance Bike Review

Balance Bikes are a great way to give toddlers mobility and to teach them how to ride a bike easily.

I was looking forward to reviewing the Little Nation Balance Bike as I was going to get my son a balance bike as a present.

After doing a bit of research, I like that the balance bike is meant to teach the skill of balance as well as teaching the child to steer and use their body weight.

Using a bike with training wheels means the bike is rigid and you don’t use your body weight. Reading mums forums told me that the training wheels rigidity along with adding a pedal to the bike made it a longer process for the toddler to pick up.

The first thing that struck me about the Little Nation Balance Bike was the quality of the frame. It looks and feels very sturdy and durable, although it was not very heavy. The wheels are made so they will never need pumping.

I love that the handle bars and seat of the Balance Bike are adjustable.

It was very easy to adjust the balance bike to differing heights of the kids that gave it a try, which is great if you have cousins or siblings and also for quick readjustments when out and about if your child has grown.

The only minor issue I found was that the instruction book was a bit vague, although the installation turned out to be easy and quick and the company has advised that the instruction manual has been updated.

My son was quite reluctant to get on the bike. He is two and was a late walker so he is not very confident with physical activity yet. On the other hand, his cousins who are 22 months and four and a half were more than happy to give it a try. The 22-month-old was using her feet while the four-year-old was lifting his legs and going quite fast. My nephew had a great time on the bike.

Although my son is reluctant to ride the bike at the moment, I believe it is a great way for him to learn to ride and feel that as he grows more confident; he will enjoy it more.
