Camping with a Camper Trailer

A camper trailer is a great option when camping and is accessible to all families as you can hire a camper trailer when you require it. We decided to hire a camper trailer for our trip as we were not that keen on camping and felt this provided an easier, ‘nicer’ alternative to camping in a tent – especially on our maiden camping voyage. Hiring the trailer especially for the first few times you go camping is a great way to see if this is the ideal camping method for you prior to making a big investment. If you have not seen a camper trailer before, the pictures within this article will help you to see what the camper trailer looks like and you can take a look at our short video which can be found here, which shows our initial camping trip, the camper trailer, the layout and the space inside. Jayco Flamingo

Having trialled a tent and a camper trailer (the tent type) we wanted to see what the pop out camper trailers are like and what type of camping experience these provide. Being someone who appreciates the mod cons and is a ‘little’ fussy with how and where we camp, the Jayco Camper Trailer we were hiring from Just Go Away seemed the ideal camping accessory.
More like a caravan and less like a tent the camper trailer has a hard based floor, pop out beds (with mattresses), bench tops and a sink. It packs away to the height of a trailer making it easier to store and transport compared to a caravan or RV. Read the complete review here.
