The Dyson Cool AM06 is extremely light and portable making it an ideal fan to move from room to room as required. The small shape and lightness of the fan means that it can be placed on top of counters, cupboards, mantel pieces or shelves as desired. This in itself is ideal as you can put it up high, away from prying fingers or exactly where you require the cool air, on your desk is a great example of an ideal location.
The desk fan offers 10 speeds and with a ‘tradie’ husband ours is kept on level 10 – the maximum.
The fan is fantastic at cooling you down and providing a welcome breathe of cool air on the very hot days. The air supplied by the fan is fantastic and the fan is very powerful reaching from our dining room to the kitchen a good 5m away. One of the biggest benefits I have noticed with the fan is that whilst still being very powerful and extremely helpful on the very hot days, it doesn’t blow the papers on my desk around everywhere. With the fan sitting on top of my desk and not at desk height or pushing the air down onto the desk like other fans, I have been able to work without interference from papers flying everywhere.
I love how the remote control is magnetised to stick to the top of the fan stopping it from getting lost. The Dyson AM06 is also extremely safe for families as the children cannot harm themselves in any way with no spinning blades on the fan. Also without the spinning blades, the Dyson Cool AM06 is quick and easy to clean.
Set up of the fan is simple and takes only one click to lock the base and fan together. Once assembled the fan can be placed anywhere you choose. You can adjust the base to blow the air upwards or downwards and on the remote control you can choose it to swing from side to side as well as the fan force level you desire. You can also program the fan to turn off at a pre-set time intervals ranging from 15minutes to 9 hours.
So how does this cool fan work? The Dyson cools works by drawing air into the base and then blowing it out of the 300mm ring on top. By creating a ring of moving air it also drags the air in the middle along too, making it more powerful.
Improved features of the Dyson AM06. This edition of the Dyson cool is 75% less noisy than previous versions and while you can hear that the fan is on, the sound is not obtrusive, loud or even obvious. The latest edition has improved airflow paths to reduce air turbulence meaning it consumes 40% less power
