Easter English Trifle- Italian Style ( Zuppa Inglese)
This sweet treat is sure to be a hit this Easter as you take an English Trifle and give it some Italian style
Serves 8-10
Preparation time: minutes Cooking time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
1litre vanilla custard
Finely grated rind and juice of 2 oranges
Finely grated rind of 1 lemon
ΒΌ cup CADBURY Bournville Cocoa
125g CADBURY Dark Chocolate Melts, melted and cooled slightly
1/3 cup Cointreau liqueur
350g (30) sponge finger biscuits
250g strawberries, sliced
125g packet CADBURY DAIRY MILK Eggs, for decoration
Strawberries, extra, halved for decoration
Method
1. COMBINE custard with orange and lemon zest. Divide into 2 bowls and add cocoa and chocolate to one.
2. COMBINE orange juice and Cointreau. Mix 1 tablespoonful into vanilla custard and drizzle remaining juice over the sponge finger biscuits.
3. ARRANGE some biscuits over the base of a 3 litre serving bowl. Top with a layer of vanilla orange custard and some strawberries. Add another layer of biscuits, a layer of chocolate custard and some strawberries. Repeat these layers, finishing with a layer of chocolate custard. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving. Decorate with Eggs and extra strawberries just prior to serving.
