The latest collection ‘Woodlands Creatures’ was inspired by enchanted forests and the occupants within them. Although not a typical vintage/retro girl, when asked to review a piece from Estwilder, I happily agreed for two reasons. Firstly, I thought the pieces looked charming and sweet. I was sure that my daughter would love it. Secondly, I like finding new and interesting fashion accessories that can brighten up an otherwise plain outfit.

 

When I received my Erstwilder item, it came packaged in a beautiful box. The box is great if giving the item as a present as it looks so beautiful. It is also great for storing and protecting your keepsake. Within the box there is the name of the piece, in my case, ‘Spark the Owl’ and a cute quote that is in line with the collection theme. “Spark the Owl. Once again, the powers of the forest open up the mind. Seek deep inside, tell me what you find.” I think this is lovely and helps develop a personality around your jewellery. Under this you will also find care instructions.

 

Spark the Owl is bigger than I had imagined which helps it to stand out and make a statement. I love that the colours on him are well thought out with a pattern design on the wings to imitate feathers, and beautiful streaks across his body piece. Each Estwilder design is both unique and playful. They utilise colours and layering to help create a depth, making the animal look more realistic. You can tell that love and care that has gone both into the design and making of the item. The necklace has a larger circle for the clasp to easily fit into which ensures that the owl always fly’s straight.

 

I choose the necklace as I hadn’t previously been a wearer of broaches. Now I wish I had taken the opportunity to choose a brooch as they look gorgeous and are more versatile as a fashion accessory as you can easily swap/change the brooch over a number of outfits and colours.
