The Frog who Wanted to Fly
The Frog who Wanted to Fly written by Sue Largier and Illustrated by Bethany Linz, takes your child on a journey of ambitions, following dreams, and my favourite is encouraging your child to follow their dreams. The book is based down by the lake where the little frog watches the birds and bats and planes flying in the sky. The little frog has so much love and ambition to be able to fly that he tells his friend, Toad, who encourages him to follow his dream and helps him along the way.
The illustrations are very clear and soft making it very easy for your child to understand the story. The words used are quite repetitive and simple encouraging your child to become more confident as a reader and building sentences. I personally enjoyed reading this book to my son – very basic and easy to understand which I saw on my son’s face as he got quite excited to turn the pages with wanting to know what the little frog was going to do, and if he was going to fulfil his dream. The little frog makes the impossible possible with help from his friend along the way.
