Leapfrog Read with me Scout
Scout is a soft, cute, lovable puppy that reads to your child while also asking interactive questions making the reading process fun and exciting. Scout is so cute and his voice is not annoying or unpleasant. He sings cute songs that make the children smile while being a great size for a toddler to snuggle and carry.
Scout came with 5 sturdy cardboard books that are just the right size for little hands. The stories are nice and simple and just long enough to hold her attention before something else distracts her. It also asks questions throughout the story which keeps her engaged and uses colours and numbers to identify the books which is something we have been working on at home and at day-care.
The recommended age for this toy is 2-5 years but I think any child that has an understanding of books and can practise turning the pages will enjoy Scout. It also has 5 different spots that respond to their touch which have him sing songs and tells the child that ‘you’re his best friend’.
Charlotte has so much fun with Scout, he is always packed in the car when we go somewhere like nanny’s house where we need to bring some toys. The older kids even liked playing with him. Recently we had a short stay in hospital (grommets) and Scout was great at keeping her occupied.
As Christmas is nearing I would definitely recommend this toy. It may not be something that the child plays with all day, every day but when they do, it encourages learning and quality reading time with parents or older siblings.
