Monopoly has revolutionised its offering with the new Monopoly Gamer Edition.
Monopoly Gamer appeals to the younger generation as more and more children become ‘gamers’ at younger ages. In addition to this, Monopoly’s new partnership with Nintendo has created a game that appeals to digital age children while embracing and ensuring that the traditional board game still remains a fun ‘off line’ activity that the whole family can enjoy.
Monopoly Gamer offers a new look board tailored to embrace Mario Bros.
It comes with special power ups (Red Shells, Star Power and more), your favourite Mario Bros characters (Mario, Luigi, Yoshi and Peach) each with their own superpowers & villains like Bowser who you can choose to fight.
Monopoly Gamer is a completely new game with new rules and the entire way of playing the game has been changed while keeping some of the old favourites like collecting money when you pass go, buying property (all with Mario Bros names like Yoshi’s Hill, Acorn Plains, etc) and heading to jail.
As a parent, I love Monopoly Gamer. The game is much faster, utilising coins instead of ‘actual money’ which is easier for younger children to understand and manage by themselves. The competitive moves; for example, dicing a red shell means you can take coins from other players, also creates fierce rivalry and excitement at what the die will bring you. The game comes with 4 characters and I like that you can purchase more power packs (with additional characters and powers) separately.
Don’t throw your traditional Monopoly out though; Monopoly Gamer is so different to the standard monopoly that having both is a good idea as they both offer different experiences and each are fun in their own way.
The standard Monopoly Gamer Edition game is available from major retailers for RRP $44.99. Aimed at ages 8 and up, you can include younger siblings with parental help.
The additional Monopoly Gamer Power Packs include one of several Super Mario character tokens like Luigi, Boo, Rosalina, Wario, Diddy Kong and more for RRP $5.99ea
