In The Night Garden: Fun and Games DVD
“In the Night Garden…is about a magical picture book place that exists between waking and sleeping in a child’s imagination. Words, rhymes and music carry the viewer through a happy world of loveable characters and nursery rhyme nonsense.”
My 20 month old & 3.5 year old sons both just LOVE In The Night Garden: Fun & Games DVD.
The main thing I like about it is that they love it so much, they sit down quietly for the duration of the episode: normally unheard of for my boys!
This particular DVD: Fun and Games, promises over 3 hours (7 episodes) of In The Night Garden fun! Each episode is set in the magical garden, featuring a selection of the same recognisable characters including Iggle Piggle, U
psy Daisy, the Tombliboo’s, Makka Pakka and the rest. Even I have a few giggles at some of the antics they get up to! The entire show is bright, fun and easy to watch, though it can be quite nonsensical too: which doesn’t worry the kids at all but as a parent I find it a little annoying at times (at which point I carry myself off to do dishes and the like ha-ha)!
Throughout the show there are birds that appear and sing on a branch: every time they appear there is one less bird, which serves as a countdown for the kids so they know the end of the episode is nearing. Never have I had a tantrum thrown at the end of In The Night Garden, so I guess it works!
Overall I like the In The Night Garden: Fun and Games DVD a lot as the kids love it and it’s educational in a way (my 3.5 year old counts along when counting the Pontipines) and is reasonably interactive. With 3 hours’ worth of episodes, this DVD is sure to keep the kids entertained!
