NSW Staycations for the Spring School Holidays
Trying to avoid snarky kids these school holidays? If jetsetting, or even getting interstate isn’t an option, your kids can still have a show-and-tell worthy experience thanks to some of the special school holidays programs. Heading towards the silly season it’s time to be saving money and holidaying local, regardless of how much you’d like to be lying by the clear blue waters of Fiji….
If you’ve got a little foodie on your hands we recommend:
- Joining the Sugar Pop fairies for a glittery magical adventure at The Glitter Tea Party hosted by Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley. On the 28th September and the 4th October for $45 per child they’ll be treated with petite desserts, finger sandwiches, and pink lemonade.
- On the second Friday of every month street food vendors take over the beer garden at Crowne Plaza Terrigal to sell their delicious wares and celebrate live music. With free entry it’s worth the day trip to the Greedy Guts Street Food Markets.
- Learn to make delicious cookies from start-to-finish, learn about sustainable gardening while eating vegetables from the vine, and how everyday scraps can make cute little critter snacks at the Mini-Chef’s program in the Hunter Valley. Running 30th September, 2nd October, 7th October, and 10th October for $45 per child.
- For an unforgettable high-tea experience for the whole family head to InterContinental Sydney Double Bay for tiered stands of petite dishes that are as stunning as they are delicious. At $25 per child this experience will be running all holidays.
- Bring out your child’s inner chef with Kids Pizza Making. On the 10th October they’ll be able to make their own wood-fired pizza, and while the pizza cooks? There will be face-painting and gelato decorating.
For those kids looking for a fright what about the School Holiday Spooktacular! at Holiday Inn Old Sydney from 22 September to 13 October. There will be everything from a Halloween-themed haunted lobby, exclusive limited-edition “Freakshakes” and ‘trick-or-treat’ welcome gifts, to wand making, face painting and balloon twisting.
