Nutella Mug Cake
Spoil Mum with a Breakfast that says ‘I Love You’ by making this Nutella Mug Cake
There’s only one thing better than Nutella, and that’s Nutella for breakfast. And what could be a better breakfast in bed idea than an oozing, gooey chocolatey Nutella mug cake (it’s Mother’s Day, chocolate cake for breakfast, in bed, is totally permissible)
But here’s where this idea gets a major Mother’s Day upgrade. You don’t serve the cake in any old mug, you serve it in the Mother’s Day ‘I Love You’ Mug.
Many might think cake in a mug is a bit naff, but in fact many Michelin star restaurants make sponge in the microwave due to its light fluffy qualities.
Ingredients (Serves One)
2 TBS Self Raising Flour (Can use Gluten Free)
2 TBS Brown Sugar
2 TBS Cocoa Powder
¼ Teaspoon Baking Powder (Can use Gluten Free)
1 Egg
2 TBS Full Cream Milk
1 TBS Olive Oil
2 TBS Nutella or other Hazelnut choc Spread
1 Love Heart Mug
Method
- Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl (flour, sugar, cocoa and baking powder)
- Make a well in the centre and add the wet ingredients. With a whisk or electric beaters, beat until well combined
- Fill your Love Heart Mug with the cake batter, spoon Nutella in the centre.
- Microwave on HIGH for 70-90 seconds or until cake has risen
- Serve with cream and vanilla ice cream and glass of champagne
