The Yumbox offers a Bento style school lunch box which provides a compact lunchbox that when closed is easy to fit into school bags and is unlikely to break. When I initially opened the Yumbox I was surprised and impressed that it showed a number of different sections, each showing in size the amount of different food groups you should include. Each section was devised for children from toddlers to 8 year old’s based on their nutritional requirements. I balked at first, wondering what I would put into some of the boxes; especially as you cannot fit a sandwich into any?!? Mmmm… Then I really enjoyed the challenge – working with the kids to think of different and interesting foods from each nutritional group to fill the section that they would actually eat. Inside the Yumbox, the sections are sealed well and do not spill between each other. The It is easy to wash as the inside component comes out is dishwasher friendly. Depending on the child, the Yumbox can provide the perfect nutritionally devised lunch, however if you have big eaters, it can be a little small for them.

Smash All in One Lunch Box.
The Smash all in one Lunch box features a plastic lunchbox with detachable insulation. This offers a double benefit in that the insulation can be easily cleaned, as can the lunchbox. The insulated jacket is easy to remove and offers a Blue IQ antimicrobial lining with a strong stable grip. The Jacket needs to be wiped clean, while the lunch box is microwave and freezer safe and can also be placed on the top rack of the dishwasher. The actual plastic lunchbox is divided into two compartments so that you can separate lunch and snacks. I like how the large compartment in the lunchbox is big enough for wraps and a number of items. I also like the sandwich seatbelt which bends to hold your sandwiches in place and can be used to place other items onto without them touching the sandwich. The snack section offers a good amount of space within which you can place snacks including apples/peaches or a few smaller containers.

Smash Slimline Cold Box
Smash have launched their new Lunchbox designs and we have tested the Slimline Cold Box. The lunchbox is easy to wipe clean. The Insulated Lunchbox is large enough to fit multiple storage boxes into. You can fit two sandwich containers side by side or one with other snack boxes. At only around 5 cm tall, it fits into the school bags nicely. The lunchbox is lightweight and comes in a range of funky designs. In addition to this, the Smash Insulated Cold Box Lunchboxes now feature Blue IQ which offers a smart antimicrobial lining to inhibit the growth of bacteria, mould and mildew. Made from food safe material, it is free from BPA, Phthalates, Lead and PVC. It zips open and closed easily and has a carry handle. Smash also offers a standard Cold Box which also features the Blue IQ lining, yet offers a larger lunchbox – 10cm high.
