Kids have a tendency to misplace their belongings; no matter how big or small and the only thing parents can rely on to help retrieve these items is a name label.

Labelling your belongings especially for children in childcare and school is essential, so as a parent it is important to find a good quality label that will remain on your items and will not need to be replaced frequently.

Skoollabels.com.au offers a range of personalised labels for children’s belongings. They have Stick On Name & Pencil labels and Iron On clothing labels. We have been asked to test the durability and quality of the Skool Labels and here is what we found:

Stick On Name Labels
The Stick On Name Labels come in a range of sizes and colours with options to personalise the label, making it more suitable and enjoyable for each child. The Stick On Labels are designed to stick onto any hard smooth surface and are waterproof and dishwasher friendly. All Skool Labels Stick On Labels have rounded corners to stop them from peeling off as easily. Within the Stick On Label range you can choose from small square labels, round labels and classic labels (in regular and a smaller size). We tested both the square and the small Stick On Skool Labels. In all varieties there are two pack sizes you can choose from, both offering good value for money and are highly customisable. For example, there are 32 images, 6 text font types and 12 colours that you can choose from. You also have the ability to add up to 2 lines of text.

When the Stick On Labels arrived, I was pleased with both the colour and printing on the labels. The colour is nice and bright and true to the colour chosen on the website while the printing is easy to read. All the Skool Labels were easy to stick onto our lunch boxes and drink bottles and after numerous washes in the dishwasher I am pleased to say that not only are the labels still on the items; they are not faded or showing signs of wear.

Iron on Labels
The Iron On Labels come in packs of 42 or 84 and are limited to name only. Each of the Iron On clothing labels has a white background and you may choose from Navy, Raspberry or Forest Green as the colour the name is printed in. Each pack comes with the Iron On clothing labels and silicone paper for easier application. To put the clothing labels onto your clothes, it is recommended that you heat your iron to the maximum setting (no steam), place the label where desired, cover with silicone paper and iron on in batches of 10 seconds until the label has bonded with the fabric. It is a very quick, simple and easy process which can be performed on numerous items without too much hassle. Once the Iron on labels have been correctly applied, they are soaker, washing machine and tumble dryer proof. It is recommended to put the labels into a position where you will not put the iron onto them directly again as direct contact with the iron will result in them melting.

I found the Iron On Labels easy to apply and had no issues with any of them. I found it good the way the entire Iron On Label bonds with the fabric, not leaving any piece that will scratch/annoy your child and the labels cannot be pulled off the clothing. Again the label itself is easy to read in any of the available colours. Another positive I feel, is that the iron on labels were the same size as the tags on the school clothes making it easier to apply.

Overall the ordering process with Skool Labels was simple, easy and user friendly.

The website is easy to use and understand and features a preview function when customising your labels. It also offers application advice should you lose your packaging, and the items are despatched within 3 days with free delivery. I like how each label comes in its own bag for easy storage and to keep in in good condition. This also makes the labelling process more convenient for future labelling sessions.
