Spoil Mum and Raise Funds with Soy Wax Candles

Candles offer a great way to invite fresh scents into the house, to promote relaxation and are the great gift idea.

While all mums will love any gift they are given, I have found a great way to elevate Mother’s Day school stalls and other fundraising opportunities to offer the women in our life something they would really like; like the Living Fundraisers Soy Wax Candles.

Living Fundraisers is a company that offers fundraising opportunities. Their Soy Candles are just one example of the items they have on offer for you to sell to raise money for your school, sporting club, etc. When fundraising with Living Fundraisers, each participant receives a carry box containing 5 different scented candles: 1 Lemongrass, 1 Pomegranate, 1 Cherry Blossom, 1 Fresh Fig & Vanilla and 1 French Linen. The participant then sells each candle for $15, thus total sales for each carry box totals $75. The participant then keeps 40% of sales (so $30 per carry box) for their charity/ organisation. It’s a great concept, and I love that it’s a classy and still affordable alternative to the usual chocolate drive!

The items can also be sold at BBQ’s, markets etc., making them a flexible option for fundraising. All paperwork and instructions are included with your carry box, and further order sheets can be requested if required to keep your fundraiser running smoothly and efficiently at a glance.

I received a full carry box to review, so one of each fragrance. Whilst, inevitably, I liked some scents more than others, I found that all were pleasant and did not give off a strong scent when burning. The candles are beautifully, individually boxed in sturdy boxes. Each candle is 175g and burns for 32 hours.

It did strike me as a little odd that there is absolutely no labelling or etching on the individual candle jars themselves: usually the bottom of the candle jar will have a sticker with the scent and some information with regards to caring for your candle, or a logo etched into the side. If you had only one candle it wouldn’t be an issue, as the scent is indicated on the box. However, if you removed 2 or 3 from their boxes, or simply forgot which scent you ordered, they would be impossible to tell apart just by looking at them.

The Pomegranate is my favourite scent, as it has a fresh, sweet smell that isn’t overpowering nor tart. Being in clear glass jars means that the candles would suit any decor, so the candles don’t look out of place if I move them from room to room in our home. I lit the Lemongrass in the guest powder room when having visitors, as I felt that it was more suited to these rooms with the citrusy aroma, and I had a few compliments on the ambience and fragrance from my guests. All in all, these candles have been well received by my friends and family!

For a $15 candle, I think they are beautifully presented and make a truly thoughtful, affordable and lovely gift for a special lady in your life. With the added bonus of supporting a worthy cause!
