The Benefits of Travelling Australia in a Campervan

How much of Australia have you explored? Whether you live here or are visiting from overseas, there is so much to discover in this great country, you can be sure to find something new and exciting to do. You may think that travelling around Australia is just for the young, but whatever your age, young or old, with your family or alone, you can take to the road and discover everything Oz has to offer.

A great way to explore and travel from city to city is in a campervan.

This will not only give you a home whilst on your journey, but it will also get you to and from where you want to be at your own pace. If you don’t want to buy a campervan outright, you can look for campervan hire companies for the duration of your trip. Whatever your itinerary, hiring a campervan could be the perfect option for a trip around Australia regardless of if you are planning a short break or a longer journey taking in as much of the country as you can.

Not planning to travel in Australia but out of the country instead? If you’re planning to visit England and happen to have Surrey County in your itinerary, traveling by van is DEFINITELY recommended! But what if you don’t know anyone there and/or have no idea where to rent one? No worries, Surrey man and van services can surely help!

Read on to find out why travelling in a campervan could be perfect for you.

Built-in accommodation.

Whilst hotels are great for a few nights, there is nothing like having some home comforts around you.  Couple that with not having to live out of your suitcase and all of a sudden a campervan seems more appealing don’t you think! Being able to create your own space, bring your own pillows and home comforts is one of the biggest appeals of holidaying in a campervan.

All you need to do is to pitch up at a free campsite or campervan/caravan park and you can choose how long you want to stay for as you explore the area. With the worry about where you are staying taken care of, all you need to do is to get out there and take in the local sights.

So no packing and unpacking a suitcase each time you start a new journey by driving yourself, you have everything you need with you.

Travel on your own time.

Not rushing to catch flights or connections on public transport, move around Australia as you please on your own time. It can take a good few days to travel between some cities – driving from Sydney to Melbourne can take you around 9 hours and Sydney to Adelaide is lengthy 14 hours. Being able to stop and start at your own pace and break up your drive is a great way to not only see more of Australia but also help you enjoy your trip more.

Another thing to consider is that you can plan your trip your way. Changed your mind and want to visit somewhere different or even skip a city altogether? Sure, with not flights booked or hotel check-ins to make, you can plan your route as you go creating a completely tailor-made trip perfect for you.

One thing to take note of is making sure you have enough fuel and know where and when you can get more. Driving through the outback can be a long journey with petrol stations few and few between in some areas. Know how far you can go on a full tank and try to get to the nearest petrol station earlier in the day as some towns close up shop early afternoons.

Experience more.

This is possibly one of the biggest benefits of travelling around Australia in a campervan. Not only are you seeing the country at your pace, but you are also seeing more of the country too. Taking in the beautiful scenery of the outback to driving through thriving cities and towns along the coast. You get so it all and everything else in between. sure, at some points it may feel like you literally see the same thing for miles. But whilst that is also true, you never know what you will come across on your drive.

And with no schedules to keep to, unless you have prebooked somewhere to visit, you can stop whenever and wherever you like to take in a breathtaking sunset or cast your eyes over the breaking of a new day. You really can see it whilst travelling around Australia in a campervan.
