Tommee Tippee Electric Steam Steriliser
I have an unfounded distrust of microwaves. So, I don’t know why I bought the microwave steriliser as I never use it. Instead I use the gas stove. This method has cost me a couple of hundred dollars from melted accessories and bottles. Both my husband and I have been guilty of forgetting to turn the timer on and therefore the stove off. Therefore a product that automatically turns off once complete is sweet music to my ears. This product did not let me down.

The Tommee Tippee Electric Steriliser has the following positive attributes:
- Easy to set up and operate: after an initial clean there is minimal work than to add water (bottle with correct measurement is included), plug in and turn on.
- Fast: it is a lot quicker than sterilising via stove top.
- Space: On the days where you need to sterilise a number of bottles, plus Sippy cups and pumping accessories it easily fits in these items at once.
- Quick to clean.
- Tongs included – patience has never been my strong suit. Therefore a small set of tongs are helpful when you want to collect the sterilised items faster than the three minutes cool down time recommended.
The only down side that I found to the steriliser is that it is reasonably large. I am currently undertaking a mix method of both breast feeding and bottle feeding so on the days that I don’t have a lot to sterilise this product is larger than I need and takes up a bit of bench space in my confined apartment kitchen.
However the convenience of the product outweighs the slight inconvenience of the size. This is designed for any time poor parent (i.e. any parent). And more importantly is the safer option in our household compared to the stove and my irrational distrust of microwaves.
The Electric Steam Steriliser is available Babies R Us and Baby Bunting.
RRP: $150.00.
