Wondrous Ink Personalised Story books

I was absolutely delighted to review a very special personalised story book for my 3-and-a-half-year-old son from Wondrous Ink today! According to their website: “Our book is an inspiring and heart-warming children’s story that uses each letter of the child’s name to show them why they are so special and unique in the world.”

Upon receiving the book in the mail, the unusual post-pack let me know straight up that this was no ordinary parcel! Well-protected by folds of cardboard, the book itself had not a single crease or bent corner, and was just perfect sitting in the box. I felt a thrill run through me at seeing my son’s name printed on the front cover! Because his first name has only four letters, his middle name was included which made the book longer and of greater value.

I love the high quality of the book itself: the pages are thick, not flimsy and feel quite durable in that they wouldn’t stain easily. The positive energy throughout the book made it an absolute joy to read to my gorgeous boy. My son was simply delighted at seeing his name printed on the cover, and he traced his finger over the letters before turning the page and snuggling in for story-time.

Unfortunately, I did find a few grammatical and wording errors, particularly with sentence structure. I also felt that the illustrations may be confusing for a child in that the boy appears to be wearing a skirt for every page, in contradiction to the front cover. However aside from that, it’s definitely become a family favourite, and if he has a difficult day or is a bit down for whatever reason, I’m looking forward to building him back up with this thoughtful book.

Ordering of the book was done online and I found the ordering process incredibly easy and enlightening. Upon entering the Wondrous Ink website, a name can be entered (anything up to 13 characters), and gender chosen. Upon clicking search, you’ll be taken to a full preview of the book: every single page, cover to cover. So there are no surprises and you can see exactly what you’ll be receiving! It will also give you an expected arrival date: not simply a set amount of working days, but an actual calculated timeline. I find their website extremely easy to navigate and very helpful. The customer service is also above and beyond, and there is even the option for gift wrapping. Delivery is available worldwide.

I have found that the Wondrous Ink personalised storybooks are indeed wondrously unique, and a beautiful keepsake to show a child close to your heart how cherished they are.
