Slow Cooker Pulled Beef

A simple, tasty, inexpensive family meal. This recipe makes a delicious  slow cooker pulled beef which can be eaten as is, as a burger, or as the sauce and meat for a Pasta Ragu or within a delicious pie! Best of all, this slow cooker pulled beef allows you to set and forget while you enjoy your day. Perfect for the busy days when a delicious easy dinner is ideal.

 

Ingredients
• 1 kg Beef Silverside Roast
• 1 tablespoon olive oil
• 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
• 1 onion chopped
• ½ cup balsamic vinegar
• 1 cup beef stock
• 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
• 2 tablespoons brown sugar
• Salt & Pepper
• 2 Sprigs Rosemary

Method

  1. In a large Pan, heat olive oil and brown chuck roast on both sides. Season meat with salt and pepper. Transfer to the slow cooker
  2. Add garlic and onion to the pan and cook for 3-5 minutes until soft. Add to the slow cooker.
  3. In a bowl, add vinegar, Worcestershire sauce and sugar mixing together. Pour this mixture over the roast and add stock. Pull Rosemary off the spring and add to slow cooker. Turn meat around a few times to ensure it is well coated.
  4. Cook in the slow cooker on high for 5 hours or low for 8.
  5. Removed roast from slow cooker and shred the meat. Pour some of the leftover sauce onto the shredded beef. Mix and serve.
