Tuutu Baby Box
When the Tuutu Baby Box arrived on my doorstep I was overwhelmed with how much it contained to help a new family start their amazing journey with their newborn bundle of joy. The box is lightweight and made from 100% recyclable cardboard. I was really happy to see the materials included as many baby products are one-time use only. Think of the Tuutu Baby Box as a “Baby starter kit”. I received the $239 Tuutu Baby Box. They also make a Tuutu Essentials Baby Box for $139 and a Tuutu Bare Necessities Box for $99. So you can find something to match your budget and your needs.
The box is functional
Finnish Designed and Australian made, The Tuutu Baby Box is designed to double as a bed and a change table helping mums to save money, space and its good for the planet.

I decided to try out the baby box as a bed for my daughter during the day as I wasn’t too thrilled with the idea of having the Tuutu Baby Box placed on the floor next to my bed at nighttime. My daughter took a little while getting used to the Baby Box as the sides are quite high and she couldn’t see out which meant she needed more settling then normal. As my daughter is a good sleeper at night it seemed to work better during the night once we gave it a go. I still preferred the bassinet I had previously been using as it is at my head height, making it easier to access during the night and I did not feel that if I were to jump out of bed I would trip over her. This however could be avoided if you could put the box on top of a Dressing Table or a similar piece of furniture. I think the Tuutu Baby Box is definitely a great alternative to a bassinet if you have limited space for all the baby products that take over your life. Also if I had tried this first I think I would have loved it as I could look straight down on top of her.
I was also a little reluctant to use the mattress from the box as a change mat without trying to cover it, as you never know what little surprises you may get when changing a nappy. This meant that the times that I did use it I would have to get it out of the box and put a cover over the mattress before changing the nappy. This resulted in longer nappy changes, so I quickly went back to using my change mat. This of course will change once she grows out of the Tuutu Baby Box, which as per recommended guidelines, is when a baby starts to roll. Then you could use the lid and mattress just as a change mat.
Included in the Tuutu Baby Box
Inside, the Tuutu Baby Box was brimming with well-known brands. The two co-founders took time to source safe, sustainable and reliable baby products including Bubba Blue, Purebaby (which is one of my favourite brands), Baby Beehinds, Gaia Skin Naturals, Grovia and many more. My daughter who is 2 months old used all of the Purebaby products straight away as I like to use them as singlets under her clothes for extra warmth during the chilly mornings and I love that they are super soft and made from organic materials.

The Bubba Blue products were also a nice surprise. They are also made from organic materials and felt nice to touch. The swaddles were a great size and worked well for my baby’s daytime sleep as she is swaddled for her sleeps during the day. The Bubba Blue products also washed really well and still felt soft after many washes.
The other product I was very excited to try was the Baby Beehinds Magical Multi Fit cloth nappy (which doubles as swim nappy). I have wanted to try a cloth nappy but didn’t know where to start. This nappy was great although it does get some practice to get it on correctly!! These nappies have been designed to fit the average sized baby from birth to toilet training, which for most babies is approximately from 3.5kg through until 15kg. The thing that I liked the best was that they are also a swim nappy, which I can’t wait to try out when the weather warms up instead of using the disposable swim nappies. This is something that I definitely want to invest more in.
One hurdle I see with the Tuutu Baby Box is the price, especially the Baby Box package. It does seem like a lot of money, but I definitely believe it is absolutely worth it! The products alone inside add up to over $200!
I really love the idea of the Tuutu Baby Box and that it can still be used once the baby has grown too big to be in a bassinet and has moved to a cot. The box is so beautiful that you would want to keep it and use it as a special keep sake box or even a toy box for years to come.
This is a product that I would highly recommend and would definitely look at investing for my friends when they have babies in the future.
